Dedicated to doing good for our planet?
Recycling with Great Mates equips you with the necessary knowledge and abilities to go green and help our planet. You’ll learn how to reduce, reuse and recycle waste with us so you can reduce your carbon footprint.
Our classes are designed for building capacity and improving daily living skills. You’ll learn how to correctly identify and dispose of different waste groups such as plastic, glass, cardboard, etc.. You’ll also learn to make your own compost, how to plant and care for your own veggies and the best way to shop organically. On top of being able to participate in the “containers for change” initiative where you collect recyclables and collectively take them to the nearest refund location, there’s also opportunity to meet and collaborate with local celebrity, 10 cent Tom.
Classes of up to 10 participants are available for a 10-week term. Each class will have a dedicated instructor and everything required for the lessons will be supplied. Classes will be a mix of in-class lessons as well as outdoor practical activities.
There are no out of pocket expenses for you; funding will be claimed from “developing life skills” at $1,264.20 per term. This course will be allocated a reasonable budget each term to cover equipment used.
